*Miles changes his appearance, and meets up at the observatory that is west of the city.*

*Val explains the situation to Systole*

"We need to rescue them as soon as possible. What's the plan, Libra? And where's Fusion?"

"Fusion is currently attempting to track down Cerebrum. I thought it unwise to interrupt him. Anyways..."

*She pulls out a map of Maretropolis and points at a small area that appears to be empty*

"They're being held here, in what appears to be an unrecorded area of the city. I don't know what we'll find there. Expect the worst."

*She puts the map away*

"We need to get there as fast as possible."

"Well, what are we waiting for? Let's go!"

*The group goes to the unknown section of Maretropolis. It appears to be a large construction site*

"I never knew this place even existed. What's being built here?"

"I'm not sure. Be careful, everyone."

*A shadowy figure emerges from the site and approaches the group*

"Who are you?"

*The figure doesn't respond. It looks toward Val*

*Val instinctively reaches for her Ride Driver bracelet*

"What're you looking at, creep?"

*The figure lunges at Val*

"Val! Look out!"

*Val dodges the attack. She presses a button on her bracelet and strikes a pose*

"Ikou ze! Masked Hero Ryder!"

*She transforms into Ryder*

"Henshin! Ryder Den-O!"

*Her suit becomes silver with train track-shaped accents. A Driver with four different-colored buttons appears on her belt. She presses the red button*

"Sword Form! Momotaros, take the helm!"

*Red armor appears on her chest, back, and shoulders. Her visor becomes red and peach-shaped. Her mannerisms change, becoming more aggressive and arrogant*

"Ore... Sanjou! (I have arrived!)"

*She draws a long-handled sword and charges at the figure*

*The figure jumps back. It ends up in a spotlight, which reveals it. It is a pony wearing a white jumpsuit and a helmet-like mask. It speaks with a heavily modulated voice*

"Ryder... You show yourself at last."

"Who the heck are you?"

"I... am Eternal."

*Eternal pulls out a small dagger and charges at Ryder*

*M-Ryder brandishes her sword*

"I'm Momotaros. Remember the name. It'll be the last one you hear!"

*She charges at Eternal and swings her sword at it*

*Eternal dodges the attack. It reaches for its belt and removes a GaiaMemory from the Driver on it. It inserts the Memory into its knife*

"Eternal: Maximum Drive. Eternal Requiem."

*It launches a large energy orb from the knife at Ryder*

"What? What's going on?"

*Ryder's transformation is undone, leaving Momotaros in her body. Her appearance slightly changes, as seen below*

*Eternal leaves without a word*

"Ah, mou!"

*M-Val angrily smashes her hooves into the ground, injuring herself in the process*

"Ow! Looks like I'm stuck in Val's body for now. I've gotta figure out a way to put Val back in control."

*Sys takes out and administers an anaesthetic to calm Val down and prevents her from causing more damage to herself.*

*M-Val doesn't notice*

"We've gotta find that Eternal guy and make him pay for trapping me in Val's body! Henshin!"

*She tries to transform, but the anesthetic prevents her from doing so*

"What the heck? Why can't I transform?"

*Notices*

"Uh... I have put a small dose of anaesthetics, so you would not damage yourself any further. It's fast acting though, and it recedes for about two minutes."

*M-Val looks angrily at Systole, then looks in the direction that Eternal went*

"We've gotta get going. That jerk's gonna pay for this!"

*She starts to run off, then falls over*

"Ah!"

*She stumbles to her feet and walks instead*

*The group follows Val. After a minute, they catch up with Eternal*

"Eternal! Stop!"

*Eternal pauses, then slowly turns around*

"What is your purpose?"

"What do you mean?"

"Your actions make no difference in the grand scheme of eternity. Knowing this, will you continue on your current course?"

"What kinda question is that? Who cares about eternity? You only live for so long, so you gotta leave your mark while you can. That's why we're gonna keep saving others, no matter what!"

*M-Val steps forward*

"First you trap me in this body, then you start spouting nonsense about eternity... You're really getting on my nerves! Henshin!"

*She transforms into Ryder Den-O Sword Form*

"Bring it!"

*She charges at Eternal and swings her sword at it*

*As Ryder approaches Eternal, it vanishes. It reappears behind Ryder*

"Predictable."

*It picks up Ryder and throws her against the wall*

"Ryder!"

"I have something."

*Sys grabs and formulates a syringe with a blue suspension; he administers it to Ryder.*

"It is what I call a "BioShield." It adjusts all of your cells and makes it extremely resistant to any blunt trauma. However, it lasts for only 10 +/- 2 blunt impacts, so be careful."
